Sanitary towel Deutsch: Monatsbinde (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
Exhausted after a long day of shopping and running around the garden with the kids I have just been for a long hot soak in the bath, yeah I wish. I had just to say dipped my little toe in the water when the door opened and Kia my 3 year old appeared.
“Mummy” she says “I have something to tell you”
“What’s that”? I ask
“You smell”
You have to love kids
She asks to jump in with me, I make an excuse, the water is too hot, its the wrong time of the month and I don’t want to share the bath water with her. After a not so relaxing bath that consisted of her filling up her yellow tea pot and then tipping the water on my face, I got out.
I have my PJS and clean pants and a sanitary towel ready on the bed. I have not worn tampons since the birth of Kody almost 2 years ago. I have this fear of wearing a tampon and then coughing or sneezing and it shooting out. Yes I know, but after having 6 kids naturally honestly its a fear.
Normally I would go into the bathroom at this point, but Kia has her back to me while she is emptying the contents of my make up bag onto the floor. I decide to do a quick change, I place the sanitary towel inside my pants and quickly pull them on under my towel, job done.
That is until I stand up to pull on my PJ bottoms, Kia turns to see me standing in my pants.
“Mummy, whats that”? She asks
“What”? I say
“Mummy why are you wearing a nappy”?
She can just to say see the white edges of the sanitary towel peeking out of my pants.
“I am going to tell Lisa you wear nappies, nappies are for babies” she firmly tells me.
To my horror Lisa is her nursery school teacher and I am so thankful that she is not at nursery for 2 weeks due to the Easter holidays.
