Muesli Bars

Easy peasy homemade muesli bars are perfect for a lunch box treat for the children, snack after school before the swimming lessons to keep the kids tied over until dinner or for a quick treat with your cuppa for an elevensies.

Muesli Bars

I know I haven't use any sugar in the actual bars and I know there is chocolate over the top - but that is completely optional, otherwise these little bars are great for kids and adults as no sugar crash after enjoying and full of healthy goodness.

Muesli Bars

These bars are so easy to make, literally you can make them while you have dinner on the go, specially an oven based dinner as you don't need an exactly temperature to bake them, if the your oven is higher then what I have stated below then each 10c increased or decreased take off 2 minutes or add 2 minutes either way, as long the bars go golden brown its done. 'Simples' as the trustee Meerkat says!

Muesli Bars

Muesli is very interesting isn't? Oats, nuts, dried fruit, grains all the goodness you need. Do you eat like porridge with warm milk and cooked or more like cereal with cold milk, but hen you are eating raw oats? Is that good or bad? The new in thing at the moment is overnight oats and muesli, I've not yet tried this but I'm sure I will this year.

Muesli Bars

These bars are like a Tracker bar type texture, crumbly but yet crunchy, slightly sweet but almost not sweet enough which is the perfect balance I think, where you could have a few pieces and not feel guilty as they don't taste like super indulgent but then really they are not.

I like the fact the chocolate buttons are just barely melted onto the bar, and send may fall off, all the crumbs left in the biscuit tin are a perfect ice cream topping or to sprinkle over your yogurt.

Break the buttons into 4into quarters and then sprinkle over the muesli bar while its still hot, so that the chocolate starts to melt.
