If there’s one thing we’ve learned this year, it’s that Rihanna is going to do whatever the hell she wants. That attitude and the party-hard lifestyle have earned Rihanna MTV’s “Rockstar of the Year” title.
It’s not the 777 Tour or her recent release Unapologetic that’s kept her in the spotlight all year: Rihanna’s personal life fueled the tabloids and kept the rumor mill running.
“She did what she wanted, with whomever she wanted, and didn’t give a single, solitary f— about any of it,” MTV writer James Montgomery said.
The singer even released a track titled “Nobody’s Business” featuring on-again, off-again boyfriend Chris Brown on her latest album.
With her middle finger in the air, Rihanna continued to post her business on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
“She flaunted her blunt-rolling abilities, posed nude more times than we can possibly count, re-connected with her controversial ex and led 150 journalists on a seven-day death-march around the globe,” Montgomery said.
Rihanna’s come a long way since her “Pon de Replay” debut and even her breakout song “Umbrella.” The pop princess is long gone and in her place is a racy rockstar flipping of the camera.
