The evil Obamacare will go into full effect ONE WEEK from today.
This afternoon, the fearless, principled, conservative Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) began a one-man filibuster to halt Obamacare, vowing to keep speaking “until I am no longer able to stand.”
As reported by The Washington Times, armed with a big black binder, thick with papers, the good senator began his filibuster with these ringing words:
“I rise today to speak for 26 million Texans and 300 million Americans!”
He began at 2:41, and can talk until noon tomorrow, when under the Senate rules he would have to stop and the Senate would proceed to vote on ending debate and bringing the spending bill to the floor.
The bill right now includes provisions to defund Obamacare, which Sen. Cruz supports, but under Senate rules Democrats can strip those provisions out with a majority vote. So Mr. Cruz is trying to block the entire bill — including the parts he supports — in protest.

Why is Sen. Cruz alone in his filibuster? Where are his supposed GOP colleagues? Grassfire.org explains:
Dear Patriot,
After a stunning victory in the House last Friday that funds the federal government, but not ObamaCare, a contentious showdown will take place this week. The impending Senate battle underscores the importance of your voice in this contentious healthcare debate.
Since the vote, President Obama, the Left and a surprising number of Republicans have been aggressively attacking those conservatives fighting to keep our tax dollars from funding this massive healthcare takeover …
Among them is Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC) who said of the effort, “It was a stupid idea then. It’s a stupid idea now.”Burr was one of the co-sponsors of Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R-TX) bill to defund ObamaCare, but he didn’t sign Sen. Mike Lee’s (R-UT) letter. And Burr is not alone. Many of the “tough-talk” Republican Senators, who at one time supported delaying and defunding ObamaCare, backed down when it became obvious that taking a principled stand against it would require them to put their political careers in the crosshairs. Those five include: Roger Wicker (R-MS), Mark Kirk (R-IL), John Cornyn (R-TX), Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) and John Boozman (R-AR).But those five are just the “worst” of the GOP turncoats. Grassfire has identified a number of other Republicans in the Senate who have indicated they would NOT vote on a continuing resolution that would defund ObamaCare.
