This new Peter Rabbit movie is a far cry from the original Beatrix Potter books, but it's still plenty of fun. It is a lot like a Home Alone movie, but instead of a little boy trying to take down some criminals, we have a bunch of bunnies and other creatures trying to take down a wildlife hater. When the original Mr. McGregor, who killed Peter Rabbit's father and put him in a pie, passes away, hopes are high that the new owner will be less hostile toward the wildlife eating his crops. However, the younger relative who inherits the estate is even more determined to get rid of the animals, especially when he finds that they have been partying in his new home before his arrival. His goal is to quickly clean up the house so he can sell it and open his own store in London. When he does everything he can to keep the animals off his property, they seek revenge. The slapstick comedy that ensues will have kids (and adults) laughing hysterically. The action is fast-paced, and parents will like that Peter does eventually show some remorse for his actions and tries to atone for them. Peter Rabbit is a fun, light-hearted film that the whole family will enjoy watching together.
