Big Hero Six (2014)Starring: Ryan Potter, Scott Adsit, Jamie ChungSummary: A young boy wonder bonds with a large robot and soon joins his friends in a large crime-fighting band.My Thoughts: I originally did not want to see this film, but after some pushing on my boyfriend's half, this is what I did see and I absolutely regretted it. From the Disney side of the film world, we're given another beautifully animated film. Disney always delivers visually, so there's no doubt about it that this film was created wonderfully. The story, character development and just plot is the part where this movie falls short.First of all, we're introduced to this young boy and we find out his life story and what-not, but...do we care? No, I was not attached to him or really anyone in this movie only Baymax, the plus-sized robot is the exception. Our main character, who's name I cannot remember for the life of me, (That shows how little the story affected me) is a terrific, young genius just like his brother and he wants to follow in his brother's footsteps and so after a couple of misfortune events, we're on a journey with our main character and his toy robot. I cannot go into specific details without spoiling it for you, but just let me tell you, whatever you think is going to happen, happens. Another problem with the movie is the predictability. I know it's for children, but they aren't brain dead! And all throughout the movie, the characters are brought in, aren't explained and then just move around in the movie all willy-nilly. There's no time for me to get to know them or even create a bond with them other than how they look. The plot...Another problem. Everything happened way too fast. This movie felt like it was half an hour long and I was waiting for more, which I didn't get. There was so much put into it, but it all made no sense! I didn't understand where they were from, what city these people lived in, their goals or aspirations throughout the whole film. It was just...bad. I wanted to like it, but I couldn't. Sure there were some funny parts. I laughed here and there and I was even a bit saddened at some points, but not enough to make me sit through it again. So, don't waste your time on Big Hero 6. Wait for it to come on Redbox or even just wait for Disney Channel to play it. Don't pay the 10 bucks I paid to go see this movie. It's not worth it.
