Before I Go To Sleep (2014)Starring: Nicole Kidman, Mark Strong, Colin Firth and Marie-Ann DuffSummary: A middle age woman wakes up not remembering anything and is trying to pieve together her past.
My Thoughts: People keep comparing this film to Gone Girl. THIS IS NOT GONE GIRL. This isn't even Gone Girl's younger sister. The movies have different plots, different direction styles! They're different! Enough with my ranting and so we start the movie off with Nicole Kidman waking up in bed with a stranger, who happens to be her husband, not remembering anything. This happens four or five more times, so of course I was tearing my hair out just watching this happen again-and-again.
Besides all that nonsense, this was a good movie. It wasn't anything groundbreaking or 'OMG AMAZING', but it was a good movie. Slow? Yes, it was. Did it have plot holes? Yes, a lot of them. Did I notice most of them whilst watching the movie? Yes, I did. Did it upset me a lot? Not really. Usually, plot holes irk me intensely, but in this movie. I was okay with them. It may have been because of the movie's cast, which was the only reason I went to see this movie.
Nicole Kidman is always great, in my opinion, so that wasn't anything new. Mark Strong and Colin Firrth weren't spectacular or anything. But these three were the only thing keeping me awake!
So, okay movie, with okay actors (Except Nicole Kidman, who's great) and an okay plot. See it in theatres? Probably not. Rent it? It would be a stretch. Wait for Netflix? Exactly!
