We spent one afternoon in Yekepa hiking at the mine, a former profitable source of iron ore for Liberia. The area is somewhat deserted now, but serves as a stunning backdrop for hiking, rock climbing, or if you’re brave like Hannah, swimming. I’m convinced there were snakes and alligators in that lake, but to each their own….

These pictures are how I will always remember Liberia: lush, natural, and breathtakingly beautiful.
