Charlie Morton was traded to Phillies for mine league right hander david whitehead. Whitehead is 23 years old, 34th round pick in 2013. 4.91 ERA in High class A ball 94/51 K/BB in 135 innings.
Ill take it. I think Mortons time here had run its course.
David Whitehead looks to be kind of like Isaac Sanchez who we lost in the Rule V draft a couple days ago. I'm not too pleased it took one of our MLB starting pitchers to replace a bullpen filler for the middle levels. The trade makes absolutely no sense.
I agree this trade makes ZERO sense. The Pirates need starting pitching and they are trading a starter.I do not understand. Even if CM is a 5th man in the rotation. What does this team have up its sleeve now?
the trade makes perfect sense as a salary dump. Plus this whitehead kid is young as they come, so, why not. Now if this is just the first step in making some moves, I am totally on board. Its not like NH is totally incompetent at building a rotation.
