In what appears to be a staged event, a prison in the East Libyan city of Benghazi was attacked by protesters from the outside at the same time that riots began inside, resulting in the escape of over 1,000 inmates.
According to Sky News, there have been protests ever since an activist, Al Musmari , was murdered after publicly criticizing the country's Muslim Brotherhood.
This occurred just a week after 500-1,000 al-Qaeda members escaped a prison in Iraq.
If the name Benghazi sounds familiar, it should as it was the location of the 9/11/12 terrorist attacked against the American consulate in Libya, which resulted in the death of four Americans, including the U.S. Ambassador to Libya.
