Montessori Floor Beds

Over the weekend I decided it was time to try to get Baby F to sleep on his own. We have been co-sleeping pretty much from the start so he is use to sleeping with me beside him. I laid him down in our bed once he had fallen asleep and I stayed close by in the same room and watched him for a few hours before I got into bed with him. I was worried about him sleeping in our queen size bed alone so I did not want to leave the room. He slept great on his own while I watched him and that got me thinking...I should get him a mattress and put it on the floor so when he goes to bed I can leave the room and not have to worry.
I started googling looking for info on babies just sleeping on mattresses on the floor and I found out it is actually a thing called Montessori Floor Beds (or Low Bed) I found that many parents use Floor Beds and basically the whole room is baby proofed. The idea is that the baby can get in and out of bed when they want to and become more independent. I will include some links below because I am still learning about Montessori. There are also Montessori teaching concepts that I am researching as well and have already started using some of the ideas in our home. I have much more reading to do on Montessori but I really wanted to share what I have learned so far in a post with you!
