I am addicted to Pinterst….and Michael’s. If you spend any time on Pinterest you know how popular burlap, chevron, and monogramming all are. So I combined all three for my Hometalk and Michael’s Pinterst Party on Sunday, February 16th at my local store in San Antonio. Below is a short tutorial for the monogrammed burlap canvas because this project is a breeze and so cute! You can really personalize it for your home with your own color scheme, monogram, and ribbon. Hannah and I will each have a giveaway since we are creating two crafts for Michaels. More details about the giveaway from Hannah (she is a pro at the computer stuff

Materials needed for this simple project:
- Burlap canvas in your desired size
- Wooden letter (mine came in white)
- Craft tape for stripes
- Acrylic paint
- Twine
- Ribbon
- Hot glue gun/glue
First, tape off the canvas to make the stripes. I am kind of lazy, so I just made the stripes the width of the tape. You could also make bigger stripes by laying down multiple pieces of tape. Hannah gave me an awesome tip (after I finished my project of course!) to “paint” over the tape with Modpodge to keep the paint from bleeding under the tape and giving a sharper edge. You can check out her post tomorrow and see how much sharper her stripes are than mine (a hint about her project!!).
Next, start painting away. Choose any color you would like that matches the aesthetic in your home. I did a pretty heavy coat since the burlap soaks up the paint. Once the paint dries hot glue the ribbon on the back and tie in a bow. I added some twine details and a bow to the white, wooden letter. Dot a little hot glue on the back to start the twine and wrap around the letter as many times as you would like to create the thickness desired. Hot glue the bow, or maybe a burlap flower! I of course gravitate to neutrals, but I am trying to step out of my box and will add color on Sunday at Michaels for my second project….so come check it out!The wooden letter is pretty heavy and I would be mortified if it fell off in front of everyone at Michael’s, so I used both hot glue (in generous amounts) and super glue just to ensure it was secure. I am really pleased with the finished product and feel like it is a simple project that customers can complete quickly and on a budget at my local Michael’s.
