Hello and welcome to this weeks edition of Money Saving Monday.
Now I love a good bargain as much as the next person but sometimes I think I am guilty of indulging in a bit of false economy. I buy a lot of cheap summer shoes in Primark and most will last me just one Summer due to my wider feet wearing the sides of the shoes down- so if I get two summers out of them then I am doing well!!
I keep most of my shoes in the bottom of my wardrobe and when the seasons change I have a good spuddle through to see what forgotten treasures I may have and this year I came across some old flip flops. Ok flip flops I hear you say what is so special about them well these are 10 years old and still going strong!! They weren't cheap they are made by Reef and I bought them whilst on holiday in Torquay as I kept seeing them in all the surfwear shops and knew I had to have a pair!! I think I paid about £25 for them which yes is expensive but they are so comfortable, have been flung in the washing machine a good few times and are still going strong!!!
*Warning please excuse my manky feet which are currently peeling due to a treatment I used on them!!
Ladies and Gents behold the greatest flip flops ever!!! OK so they aren't going to grace the pages of Vogue and they are not the most stylish but for messing about in the garden or on the beach they are perfect.
I guess what I am saying is I like to buy things and when I get something cheap I get the instant gratification of something shiny and new but just occasionally I know that really it is better to buy the odd more expensive item that will stand the test of time!
Don't forget to check out the other frugal ladies!
