New York City is a glorious place. The energy here is second to none, and yet there are times the never-ending intensity can be overwhelming. Late this winter, we escaped the hustle and bustle of the city with Brooklyn-based band Modest Midas. Just as fate would have it, we were able to catch one of the only snow days this entire winter. For gorgeous acoustic renditions of their songs “Nomad Blues” and “Wolfmoon”, see the videos below. And if you want to download the MP3s from the Buzzsessions and put them in your iTunes, make sure to take note of the Soundcloud player under the videos. Enjoy.
The wonderful artwork you see above was created by Derek Eads. For more of his work, click here. He sells prints, iPhone cases, and a bunch of other great things. Special thanks to Ashley Maas, John Katona, and of course, Jake Hart, Dan Brantigan, Tom Deis, and Jess Martins from the band.
For those of you in New York, Modest Midas is playing Rockwood Music Hall on Friday, June 1.

‘Buzzsessions’ is a live session series made by The Wild Honey Pie. With each new episode, we travel with a different band to a different part of New York City (in this case, Westchester, New York) and record sometimes-intimate/sometimes-wild versions of two or three songs which are given away for free.
