H-A-P-P-Y B-D-A-Y + a photo of 'channing' [did you know, April 26th is Channing Tatum's Birthday- not planned at all, I SWEAR!] This has been the first meet-up where I only had to drive approx 10.5 miles. According to map quest it should take me 21 minutes. I'd say more like 13 or 14. I would be lying if I said I didn't like the short distance to see a bunch of fun girls! I am usually navigating my way around Minneapolis which I am not bad at, I just hate doing it, plus it makes for a late arrival on my part- almost always!
This time, though, I was early! After gathering all of my supplies for a little bit of class entertainment, I was on my way! I arrived to class with a bottle of wine in hand and found a very eager & very EARLY class member, Lindsey giiiirl arrived way early and ready to cook some food! She was able to get some one on one time time with the Regger man. Aside from his doggy anxiety, he was a highlight of the night for many of the cameras.
["Lettuce Have Fun!"]Soon to arrive, following myself, we had Melissa, Brittany, Lauren, Sally, Kelly & Jess. After a little run through of how class works (everything is hands on- we all cook then eat!) we got to work!

Jess and I took care of the dessert and ALMOST.... almost ruined HALF of it! We worked on a Whipped Chocolate Mousse Dip w/ Strawberries and made some baked cinnamon chips! As we were brushing our tortilla triangles with grapeseed oil- we were about knocked down huge wafts of garlic coming from Lindsey's pizza item (so we thought!) Turns out we had to ditch an entire batch of cinnamon chips after we realized we used just GARLIC oil for our sweet chips- real nice... real nice!
We did pretty good in the glitch dept though, because everything else turned out SO GOOD!! The BLT Pasta Salad had the perfect amount of bacon. The Cheeseburger salad was dressed to perfection. The Chicken Caesar Salad Pizza was packed with flavor and (my personal favorite of the night) Chicken Salad Lettuce Wraps were refreshing. SO much that I made them again for dinner tonight!
All of us chowed down on our delicious creations, I handed out everyone's take home items which included; recipes for the night, a seasoning blend used in all but the dessert, Mini Chan Fans (b/c we are a bunch of chan fans in this here neck of the woods) a "gusher" fan for Lindsey (Usher is her guy) and last- a topic/question for everyone to answer as we went around the table eating our food. I mentioned that the girls could answer or somehow incorporate the question into the cooking class recap- just a little something to make each of the recaps a little different to read.
[we all had our own individual Channing personality preferences. i went with 'dressy channing'][all mini chan fan photos found via @channingtatum]
My question, interestingly enough and NOT PLANNED AT ALL was "What is Channing Tatum's favorite food?" Well.... my sources (the internets) tell me NOTHING, nothing that is accurate anyway... but I did read in ONE place saying it's a double cheeseburger, but I don't buy that! People says it's a meal that he requests this mom to make when he goes home, awwwweee! This site had a great
Anywhhooo speaking of other class recaps, head on over to the Mn Bloggers blog to read about everyone's take on a fun night of cooking (link up if you havent' yet)! I had a BLAST hosting & planning this meetup and would LOVE to do it again! I don't think I am wrong in suggesting that we try it again and soon- maybe sometime later on this summer! Who's in!? It can be poolside...
If not for the food- come to see Channing & to sip the wine! ;) Thank you to all the ladies who were apart of this fun night and if you had to miss out, I hope to see you the next time!
oh and Channing if you're reading this... we are big fans... HUGE fans... and it was a Very Happy Birthday to you!! Your ears had to be ringing. haha
