This is a recipe out of a cook book I gave away as a present to my little cousin. She simply loves baking as much as I do, and I thought she might like this recipe book called “Zucker, Zimt und Liebe”. It has many small treats in it, as well as pies and cakes. Fortunately I went with the right cook book and she absolutely loved it, we already had to try one of the recipes yesterday. We decided to make these cinnamon rolls which turned out smelling and tasting very delicious! The brown sugar and cinnamon coating just smells amazing, even better than caramel, when com in out of the oven…
Dough:
- 260g flour
- 3 tbsp. sugar
- 80 ml milk
- 120 ml butter milk
- 75g butter, melted
- 1 tbsp. baking powder
- a pinch of salt
Crust:
- 150g brown sugar
- 100g white sugar
- 6 tbsp. butter, melted
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
Glaze:
- 50g powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp. milk
Combine flour, baking powder, sugar and salt in a small bowl. Add buttermilk, milk and melted butter. Stir using a spatula or a whisk until no lumps remain. Pour sugar for crust in a mall bowl. Melt butter, combine with cinnamon and brown sugar and pour over formed dough balls (you can also do this using a brush, that way it will spread better).
Bake in oven for about 20-30 minutes until they have risen and turned golden brown.
Remove from oven, let cool out completely, then sprinkle glaze on top.
Voila, enjoy these little pre- christmas reminding treats.
