Early morning on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, a little kitten named Milo saved the lives of Christine Glover and two house mates from a house fire.
Glover said that everyone in the house was asleep when Milo meowed and licked her face to wake her up. That’s when she noticed that the house was on fire.
“I was going to pick him up, and move him, and I opened my eyes and that’s when I saw the whole back deck that was in flames,” Glover said.
Glover, her boyfriend, and one other person rushed outside. Five minutes after they escaped, flames engulfed the entire home.
Tragically, Glover’s boyfriend tried to save Milo but couldn’t find the kitten in time.
“He grabbed his dog and dragged Gracie out and he looked under the bed for Milo, but he just couldn’t find him,” said Glover.
Glover’s mother Ruthie says she is thankful for Milo, because without him her daughter might not be here today, “His life was a little flash, but it certainly brought us a miracle, and we are grateful god gives us his creatures to enjoy.”
Glover said, “I’m definitely going to remember playing with him, and him attacking my feet, in the morning when I put my socks and shoes on because he thinks I’m playing.”
Milo was just eight weeks old. Glover had adopted Milo only a few weeks ago after her mother found the kitten in a wooded area.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
