Microsoft has unveiled a new service called Xbox Music, which allows users to easily stream over 30 million songs for free on Windows-powered tablets, computers and the Xbox console. It’s the company’s latest attempt to add music to the business after failing to do so with Zune.
This is Microsoft’s latest attempt to expand its’ entertainment facilities to all the loyal customers. And not to mention also to give a challenge to their arch-rivals, Apple and Google. This could actually be a Spotify killer too.
According to BGR, there are two options on using Xbox Music. First one is the free option that allows all the Windows 8 users to use it for free and the other one is for the rest of the gang, which costs $9.99 per month allowing to use the service on smartphones and Xbox 360.
Sadly this new service is not gonna be available for Windows 7 users, because Microsoft has big plans to support and promote the new Windows 8 OS and Surface as best as they can. But it’s possible for them to expand the network sometime in the future.
