Microsoft Continues to Support Android, Unveils Nokia X2

The next generation Nokia X handset: the Nokia X2 comes packed with improved specs and features for a cheap price. The device includes a ClearBlack 4.3-inch WGVA display, a dual core 1.2GHz Snapdragon CPU, 1GB of RAM, 5MP camera and runs on Nokia’s custom Android OS.

X2 also introduces Nokia X Software Platform 2.0 and an improved user interface that allows users to choose between three types of navigation screens including the colorful “home” with resizable tiles, Fastlane, and a new Lumia-inspired apps list. The design of the handset now features a seamless monobody, along with exchangeable back covers.

“The Nokia X family is going from strength to strength, with the Nokia X smartphone achieving top-selling status in Pakistan, Russia, Kenya and Nigeria, while earning the third-best-selling smartphone spot in India,” said Timo Toikkanen, head of Mobile Phones, Microsoft Devices Group. “The Nokia X2 elevates the Nokia X experience with a stellar new design, ease of use and new Microsoft experiences. We’re proud to continue to bring smartphone innovation to lower and lower price points.”

With Dual-SIM capability, the Nokia X2 will ship worldwide starting next month for 99 euros (~$135 USD).
