Microsoft Caught Showing Off Xbox One Games On Windows 7 PCs at E3

Microsoft’s E3 press event hasn’t been in the talks much. Mostly because it was blown away by Sony’s PS4 unveil. However, Microsoft did talk about Xbox One pricing, features and has demoed some of the games that they are planning to ship with the next-gen console. As it turns out those demo gameplay weren’t really that next-gen after all as they were actually shown-off running on a PC running on Windows 7 with NVIDIA GeForce 700-series GTX graphic card.

Yes, I know. This doesn’t necessarily mean that they were lying and faking the whole thing. But, according to Slash Gear, EA’s Peter Moore has mentioned that they were running these games on a “comparable dev kit specifications”, meaning that it’s something with similar specs to Xbox One. Who would’ve thought that this so called dev kit was just an old gaming PC. Sad part is that they weren’t even using their latest Windows 8 operating system. What the hell is up with that?

Of course things will look better on the Xbox One than this PC. However, this just proves that the Xbox One is not so “next generation” after all. Any game that runs on the console can be played on an old PC as well.
