Michael Lavelle plays flute, whistles, bagpipes, border pipes and bodhran. He started his music
education in national school with John Twin McNamara, and continued his musical journey through Scoil Acla music school and with the local pipe bands of Achill. He is a piper and current Pipe Major of the Golden Eagle Pipe Band. He has also guested with the Chieftains on several occasions and was invited by Paddy Moloney to perform on ‘The Pipers Medley’ for RTE 1 TV in November 2015 featuring various kinds of pipes.
