Metric rocked the crowd at the Moore Theatre in Seattle last night, while openers, Joywave kicked off the evening with a dance-worthy performance that consisted of songs off of their latest album, How Do You Feel Now. The five piece band wasted no time jumping right into their opening numbers, “In Cover”, “Feels Like a Lie”, and “Now”. Joywave’s synth driven dance rhythms made it hard for the audience to stay in their seats.
Metric’s latest album, Pagans In Vegas, marks the end of a three year hiatus since their 2012 release, Synthetica. Judging from the night’s sold out show, it appears that the band’s followers have not dwindled in the least. Metric’s set consisted powerful synths and booming pop drum beats that had fans on their feet and dancing along. Emily Haines had some moves of her own, as her charismatic stage presence lit up the stage.
This was never more evident than during the song “Help I’m Alive”, as Haines danced from one end of the stage to the other, stopping only to pump her fist in the air to the chorus: “Help I’m alive my heart keeps beating like a hammer!” With dozens of performances lined up for the rest of the tour, Metric shows no signs of slowing down.
