Methi Malai Matar

An Indian vegetarian dish with fresh fenugreek leaves and peas. Cooked in fresh cream and fresh Indian spices. 
Methi Malai Matar

Servings : 4 persons

Preparation time : 10-15 mins
Cooking time : 10-15 mins

Ingredients :

Fresh Fenugreek leaves (Methi) : 2 medium bunches 
Green Peas (Boiled) : 1 cup
Onion (finely chopped ) : 1 large
Cumin seeds : 1/2 tsp
Asafoetida (hing) : a pinch
Turmeric Powder : a pinch
Red chilli powder : 1/2 tsp
Amchur Powder : 1/4 tsp
Kasoori methi :  1/4 tsp
Fresh Malai or cream : 1/2 cup
Sugar : 1/4 tsp
Salt : to taste
Oil : 2-3 tbsp
Method :
1. Clean, wash and finely chop methi leaves. 
2. Heat oil in a deep frying pan. Add cumin seeds and asafoetida. 
3. Add onions and saute till they are translucent.
4. Add methi leaves and peas.
5. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, amchur powder, sugar and salt. Mix them well.
6. Cook for 5-10 mins on low flame.
7. Gently crush kasoori methi on your hands and add it to the sabzi.
8. Finish with fresh cream or malai.
9. Serve hot with naan or roti.
