Regardless of your plans this coming Memorial Day weekend, you can do it with style. I’ve put together five Memorial Day outfits to help you get inspired.
Memorial Day has become known as the unofficial start of summer, however, it is important to remember why we get this day off to barbecue, drink fruity drinks and celebrate the fact that we can wear white without judgment. Memorial Day is to honor all the servicemen and women who have died while serving our country. So, before I go on, I’d like to pay my respects to those who have or are currently serving our country. Thank you!
If you’ve got plans this coming weekend but are still unsure what to wear, here are some Memorial Day outfits to consider. For shopping information on all looks, click the images below.
Memorial Day Outfits: Look #1

When I think of Memorial Day, I think of dresses, especially sundresses in fun colors. I love the modern, summery feel of this dress which would be perfect for a dressier Memorial Day celebration. Wedges are great to wear in case of you need to walk on grass– you don’t have to worry about your heels getting stuck.

If you want to wear a dress, but know that your Memorial Day party plans will be a bit more physical, this jumper/romper gives you the looks of a dress with the practicality of pants. By pulling out the colors in the print, I chose bright pink sandals, a turquoise bib necklace and a navy tote bag, that is large enough to carry a few bottles of wine, of course.

If Memorial Day weekend has you excited to break out the shorts, you can still do it with style. Just like colored jeans, colored shorts can be a great way to add some freshness to your wardrobe this summer. Here I chose a pair in trendy coral and paired the shorts with green sandals. Green is a great versatile sandal color that will get you a lot of mileage all season long.

Depending on where you live, Memorial Day may be the first weekend that you will be baring your skin. If you want to wear a dress, but don’t want to bare your legs, a maxi is the way to go. Additionally, just because it’s summer it doesn’t mean that everything you wear has to be bright and fruity. Summer is also a great time for natural shades, like olive and brown, which can be made more summery looking with pops of turquoise and yellow.

Even though your Memorial Day plans are SUPER casual, it doesn’t mean that you have to look like a slob. Something as simple as cropped cargos and a tank top can look pulled together if you add some finishing touches. With the addition of some bright sandals, a colorful bag and some natural accessories, that are as casual as your total look, you can and feel good, even while eating a hot dog and some potato salad off a paper plate.
Have a fantastic Memorial Day weekend! I’ll be spending the holiday with my family for our yearly get-together. How about you?
