Sometimes you have to take the rough with the smooth, so they say — who “they” are still remains a mystery, but I digress. This often cited juxtaposition of texture is actually quite positive in the case of Parisian singer/songwriter Melody Prochet. Her debut single “Crystallized”, which is released under the recording name Melody’s Echo Chamber (@mdyechochamber), see’s her sweet, wispy vocal shoved inside a layer of static and distortion, which is then firmly kicked about by the boot’s of psychedelic rock.

Teaming up with Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, Prochet recorded this righteous combination of hazy guitar riffs, scuffed electronics and enchanting vocals at her grandparents beach house. While this may be her only song at the moment, I’m digging the sound, and judging by the different pieces of this puzzle, Melody’s Echo Chamber is an audible endeavour with plenty more to offer.
