Now a Nigerian woman has made what she is dubbing “Hijarbie.”
Haneefah Adam, 24, wanted to create a doll that dressed the way she did. Complete with a tiny hijab on her plastic head, the miniature fashionista could not be further away from the blonde doll that has brandished the bedrooms of millions of youngsters for almost 60 years.
Express UK reports that Adam said, “It got me thinking about how I’d actually like to see a doll dressed up like I would have — covered up. “I was mulling about the idea for about three months while I was still studying for my master’s degree in the UK. When I got back to Nigeria, I went to the mall, purchased a doll, dressed it up, documented it and here we are.”

I’m sure Barbie/Mattel will not have a problem with this Hijarbie, because “diversity is crucial.” As reader PatriotUSA pointed out on my other blog post, “When are they going to make a SOUTHERN Barbie wrapped in the Confederate flag in white and black?????”
Gee, ya think Barbie/Matttel would approve of this doll? My guess IS A BIG FAT NO.
