October 2017

Taken during the annual San Francisco Fleet Week airshow, the Blues pass over the Golden Gate Bridge in their Delta formation as part of their performance over the Bay.  First formed in 1946, the Blue Angels have been using the F/A-18 Hornet since 1986.  These are usually the oldest jets in the fleet that have been taken out of front-line combat strike units as newer models are delivered.  The team will eventually transition to the much newer, but heavier F/A-18 Super Hornet in 2019 at the earliest.
