Maybelline New York Color Tattoo Pure Pigments Eye Shadows – Review

By Triedandtestedblogger @triedtestedblog

Hi everyone,

I’m a huge fan of Maybelline eye products – from their mascaras, eye liners and color tattoos, they just have some amazing products and being such a huge fan of the Maybelline Color Tattoos (I own 9 shades!), I couldn’t wait to try the Color Tattoo Pure Pigments Eye Shadows! With 6 shades in the range, I picked up all 3 of the neutral shades.

The pigments can be used dry or wet and have a nice soft and smooth texture. Being a loose powder, they can get a little messy in application but the fall out isn’t a very big issue when you make sure to tap off the excess on your brush or use them wet.

When used dry, the pigmentation isn’t too bad, with the lighter shades being sheer but still gliding over the eyes and of course, pigmentation is buildable. For the best color payoff, I’d recommend using these pigments over a nice base, whether it be a primer or even a color tattoo cream shadow to allow the pigments to really adhere onto the lid and boost its pigmentation. Using them wet also gives a gorgeous intense color payoff. Over a primer, the pigments last well on the eye and I didn’t experience any creasing.

These neutral shades have a metallic, shimmery finish which looks really lovely on the eye but as the Color Tattoo Pure Pigments do need a bit more care and effort in application, I don’t reach for them on a daily basis. However, they are great to use for a night out or for a special occasion as their finish really draws attention to the eye.

The Maybelline New York Color Tattoo Pure Pigments Eye Shadows are $11.95 and available from Priceline, Big W, Target, Coles, Woolworths and other Maybelline stockists.

Have you tried the Color Tattoo Pure Pigments?
