Maybelline Colorsensational Lip Gradation Pink 2 Review, Swatches and FOTD!
By Jhilmil D Saha @jhilmildsaha
Hello my sweethearts! Maybelline has lately been on a product launch spree lately, and in attempt to keep up with my favorite drugstore brand i have been testing out almost each and every launch and bring for you the tried and tested reviews for the same!
So after the hyper matte liner, fit me range and a few Maybelline lip products, what more do we have in store for you, one may ask! So, today my lovelies i bring to you the most coveted lip gradations from the house of Maybelline! I had been eyeing these ones since early 2014 when these were launched in the states under the "colour blur" range! But the same range has been launched in India now--the same product formulation, same packaging, but different name and lesser shades! Sad!
What Maybelline has to say?
Now you can wear brights every day the gradation effect way! With a unique cushion blender, you can smudge out the bold matte pigment to create a gradation effect look.
Price and Quantity: 500 INR for 1.2 grams of product!
Packaging: The product comes in a non-conventional lip pencil type thing! On one edge is the actual lip product and the other end has a sponge tip smudger with both the edges covered snugly and safely in plastic lids! The lip pencil comes in a retractable form making things really hygienic and gives the ease of application! The outer packaging is color coded and looks really nice to have in your makeup stash!
Shade: I choose the shade Pink 2 which is a really warm toned and bright, or rather let us say a really deep pink colour! Ok, so in English we may get away with calling it a really pretty deep hued pink, but we have Hindi to the rescue, and in India we call this kind of a shade a typical “Rani Pink” colour! That is the beauty of the Hindi language; we have so many expressions to form our thoughts into!
Texture and Ease of Application:Man, if any one of you has been following on Snapchat, you know I did a first impressions there and you will also be aware of how hilariously taken aback I was with the creaminess of this lipstick! Agreed it is a creamy matte, but I applied it on the lips and it feels so buttery smooth and not at one moment feels drying! I expected it be drying, it was a matte lip product after all! The tip of the product makes application a breeze, and this particular shade looks lovely when blurred out with the sponge and worn as a stain!
Pigmentation and Coverage: The shade is highly, I mean literally very strongly pigmented! It looks great both as a smudged off stain as well as a full-blown pout for evening looks! It hides each and every spot of pigmentation on the lips with utmost ease and even the smudged off lip look camouflages darkness or pigmentation on the lips easily!
Staying Power: Being a dark colour, it stays on easily for more than 5 hours on me, and that is with drinks and non-oily snacks! But as and when you eat anything greasy, the oil makes the pigments melt off and it starts fading off! But despite being a creamy matte, it has never felt dry or flaky and patchy on my lips!
So here is why and how much I love my lip gradation in shade PINK 2, and looking at the excellent quality and price range, I am definitely eyeing the shade MAUVE now!
Have you used the lip gradations yet? What do you think about it? Let us know in the comments below!
