I love being a mommy (which I am sure you know if you hang out around here often) and can't wait to share my experience!
1. Before you ever even had children, how did you feel about being a mother?
I knew I wanted children, and lots of them! My grandparents always talk about a time when they babysat me and I was carrying around 11 baby dolls saying I wanted that many kids. Yeah, not anymore; however I always knew I wanted a big family. Did I expect to become a mother at 24? No way. I thought it would be much later than that but I'm glad God has a different plan and it happened when it did.
2. Since becoming a mother, what is something that has happened that you never thought would?
I never thought it would come so naturally. Z went back to Afghanistan when Bubba was a few days old and I was like "Ok, now what?" I was terrified of being on my own with him and afraid I wouldn't know what to do. But it came so natural... I just knew. I also never expected to love someone SO much. It's a totally different kind of love than a romantic love and it happens instantly. The minute he was born, my heart filled with more love and joy than I had ever felt before.
3. Is being a mother less difficult, more difficult or exactly how difficult you imagined?
I'm not sure I had an idea either way. I mean, you hear stories from other mothers and hear that every kid is different so I had no idea. Some days it's a breeze and some days it's extremely difficult...but totally worth it.
4. What is your fondest memory of being a mother (so far)?
Giving birth. It was the craziest and most beautiful thing in the world. And every time he says mommy, melts my heart. He also falls asleep by playing with my hair and wrapping his arms around my neck...it's the best!
5. If your children only learn one life lesson from you, what do you hope it is?
To be honest. I value honest and I want my children to know they can always be honest with me and I will love them no matter what. Being honest sets the tone for how people trust you and view you as a person and I want them to be themselves and be honest in every aspect of life
