This month brings the usual assortment of conferences, workshops, and symposiums to the green events calendar. Here are a number taking place throughout the United States and Canada, as well a couple of interest overseas. As per usual, California, Washington DC, and New York are well represented. A few of the conferences deal with “greening” government, a worthwhile venture for one of the most inefficient organizations around.
Let us know of any conferences, events, or festivals in your area. We will gladly add them to our green events calendar. Please send us an email with the event’s name, date, location, description, and website.
Here are a few of the events happening around the world:
Global AgInvesting 2011
When: May 2 – 4, 2011
Where: Waldorf Astoria, New York City
Description: Global AgInvesting 2011 will bring together leading global ag-sector end-investors, ag-managers, academics, policy experts and agribusiness industry executives to explore the opportunities and challenges of investing in agriculture. The fundamentals of agriculture are compelling. A growing world population, improving diets in the developing world, and alternative fuel/industrial applications will continue to drive demand. Meeting this demand, even after accounting for continued productivity improvements, would require more land than can be sustainably and economically brought into production globally. This will result in high crop prices and drive profitability and valuations across the sector over the coming decade. Further details: http://events.soyatech.com/conference.php?cid=19
