Master Bath Update
The master bathroom is one of my very favorite rooms in the whole house.  Two sinks, two closets, two dirty clothes…and my very own vanity.  Although there is much to love, there were a few things that drove me nuts and I couldn’t wait to get my hands and some spray paint on!  I discussed replacing the knobs and pulls for the cabinets and drawers with Brent and we quickly learned how expensive it would be.

As you can see there is plenty of storage but there are also plenty of clashing colors. Brassy gold fixtures and mirrors, silver sink fixtures, and the worst….gold and silver knobs and drawer pulls.  The vanity looks a little empty and sad since all my makeup and decorations will be in San Antonio until I move…I’m sure there will be an update once I am all settled in next year.

Here are all of the supplies I used to update the master bathroom.
Master Bath Update 4
I bought the smallest tarp ever at Home Depot, laid out all the mirrors and fixtures to be lightly sanded, rinsed and scrubbed with the steel wool, and taped off with the painters tape once dry.

Here is a good look at those hideous gold and silver combination handles.  You can also see that even the gold fixtures are not even the same shade or brassiness.

After taping off all the glass I primed each piece twice just to thoroughly cover all the gold and because of the amount of detailing/crevices.

Next came the Metallic Silver spray paint!!  I absolutely love how shiny it came out.  Already such an improvement over the gold.
Master Bath Update 9
I am ecstatic with the finished product.  It took a lot of tedious work but all of the fixtures now match and the whole project cost less than $20.  I bought two cans of the silver spray paint and actually only needed one, but who wants to stop halfway through a project to run out for more spray paint…better safe than sorry.

The guest bathroom fortunately had all matching fixtures with the exception of the gold mirror.  Here is a before and after with the darker Metallic Spray paint.

My only comment on the guest bathroom is that the “easy spray” paint that I bought was a nightmare.  It leaked all over may hands and was blotchy even after vigorous shaking per the instructions.  I will not be using that kind of spray paint again!!
