Another post for all street food and chaat lovers....Masala Puri!
Some days back,one of my readers asked me to share recipe of Masala Puri. This made me to remember my days in Bengaluru PG, where I used to stay during my days of my career startup.
One close friend took me once to one of the snacks or chaat shop next to our PG, which was famous for the chaat.
As usual, she ordered Masala Puri and I opted for Sev Puri...but somehow she made to taste a spoon of her plate and that day I had tasted Masala Puri for the first time.
It was super hot and spicy chaat I had ever tasted,but at the same time so tasty.
There was this girl in my PG who was in-charge of cooking and taking care of PG facility.She was a fan of this Masala Puri. Whenever, I used to reach PG early,I used to get her this Masala Puri parcel/to-go parcel and she used to be so happy munching that.
To make it just like the chaat shops, I asked my friend,what can I possibly put in this recipe to taste like the one that we get on these chaat shops in Bengaluru,and she mentioned to me that a spice by name "Marati Moggu" is used in this chaat,which gives nice flavor to it.
Luckily I have that spice with me,as I keep on buying news spices and keep on trying them in recipes.
If you dont have this, then do not worry, try using Star Anise and Mace instead . The taste will not be same but very much closer to the recipe.

This is Marati Moggu:
- If you do not have Marati Moggu,replace with 2 petals of Star anise and 2 petals of Mace. This should work fine.
- I did not use Green Mint chutney and sweet Dates chutney as it tastes good as it is. But you can still use it.
