Artist Billy Butcher imagined what would happen if various Marvel comic book heroes were all as selfie-absorbed as everyone else.
“I thought it was interesting to explore such a modern phenomenon, the selfie, clashing with a vintage concept like the design of characters from the ’60s,” Butcher told Mashable.
The vintage drawings clash somewhat with the modern phenomenon of smartphones to create something very much like the pop art movement of the ’50s and ’60s. But that probably adds to its appeal.
