With Fourth of July right around the corner, many people’s schedules are becoming hectic. There are BBQs to plan, trips to make to the lake and fireworks to purchase (wherever it’s legal, of course). This makes social media the last thing on many people’s minds. However, as most people know, consistency is key when managing your social media presence. Below are some easy tips for managing your social media presence even during the holidays.
- Blog Posts Often, scheduling blog posts around the holidays is the best strategy for your blog. If you typically post on the day that the holiday falls on, you can move the post up or back a few days in order to avoid the holiday. Traffic typically falls off on holidays so posting on the day of a holiday is not worth your time. Get the most out of your blog posts by not posting on the holidays.
- Facebook Facebook is a great place to wish your audience a happy holiday. Post a festive image, wish them a happy day or ask what their plans are. All of these are simple strategies to get the most out of your Facebook presence without stressing yourself out on a holiday.
- Twitter If you have time, posting on Twitter for a few moments can’t hurt. Ask others how they’re celebrating and wish them a happy holiday. If you don’t have time, it’s unlikely that you’ll be penalized for your absence.
- Instagram This is a GREAT platform to quickly post an image and get on with your holiday. Any festive food, pictures of your team on the holiday or pictures of your family celebrating are all great ways to humanize your brand on any holiday.
- Google+ Google+ has a very dedicated following. If you have time, post on Google+. If not, be sure to use the holidays’ hashtags (like #FourthOfJuly) in the days and weeks leading up to the holiday can help you to continue to be “present” without being present if you can’t be on the holiday.
