Nawagamuwa Police arrested a 26-year-old man who entered large-scale garment factories as an employee and stayed there until the end of the night until the employees finished work and left and stole laptops, mobile phones and cash.

Police found laptops stolen from eight large-scale garment factories in Navagamuwa, Kosgama, Hanwella, Avissawella, Pugoda, Hungama and Ratmalana.

According to the police the suspect was in the practice of joining garment factories and working there for only about two or three days. Later, he entered the factories in the evening using the employee identity card given to him from the relevant factory and hid in the factory until all employees left and stole valuables. He has told police at times he had even woken up the security guards who were sleeping in the garment factories before he left with the stolen goods.

The seized items include ten laptops, three tab computers and three mobile phones.The suspect is to be produced in courts.
