Welcome to our weekly series of ‘link-up’ Posts which reflect on life’s journey, old memories and family stories (see below for more info).
Meet Dandy and Rosie. They came into our family life 3 years ago as brother and sister pups. We only intended to buy one, but how could we leave the last pup in the litter all alone when those brown eyes were locked on to us?
This double-purchase was inspired. They have the strongest of bonds and have always been the most excellent company for each other.
Their personalities are entirely different….he’s timid and needy, she’s an adventuress, independent. But they are as thick as thieves. If there is a whiff of rabbit in the air, one swift sideways glance at each other indicates that they’re in cahoots, and off they fly! No amount of whistling or beckoning will generated obedience. Just like the other siblings they share a house with. They follow me everywhere, staring with ‘may I sit on your lap?’ eyes. They have become such an integral part of our family that it is inconceivable that our bond, or theirs, will one day
be broken. So we enjoy the moment. They appear in our family portraits and they merit their own. Two tiny little dogs who fill such a giant place in our hearts. Is there a dog in your life? Maybe you grew up with one as a child? If you feel like sharing your memories, post here in our Linky. Each week we celebrate one of life’s little events, an excuse for a blast of nostalgia or a good family story. Do join us each Tuesday to see what we’re talking about!
