Today is Day 1 of Mamavation.com's #2WeekChallenge. The name of the workout for today was Burn It.
Boy, did it burn!
To start the day, I walked 1.14 miles with the kids in the double stroller. I then started some heavy cleaning (switching the kids clothes for the seasons and moving some furniture).
Needless to say, I was pretty tired, and I didn't even get to do the workout yet!
The workout looks like this:
- Burpees x10
- Squats x 10
- Alternating Lunges x10
- Mountain Climbers x10
- Same x3
Easy enough, right?
Let's just say that I got through just a half of a Burpee. When I transitioned from the squat to the plank position, I felt every inch of my c-section incision scar tear...or at least it felt like it was tearing. Ouch. I just had the baby 6 months ago, and you would think it was completely healed, but not for another 6 months I guess. Yeah, I don't think I'll be doing those again... I decided to program the workout with some modifications into my EA Sports Active 2 exercise game on the Wii. In place of the Burpees, I did jumping squats, foot fires, and rope skipping. I then did what else was on the list, plus a warm-up and a cool down.
It ended up being a great workout. I liked that I had something that measured my form and kept track of everything. I had to skip one exercise since my leg controller died, but I did everything else. I ended up doing more reps for each exercise since I had the game set up on medium-hard, but that was fine for me. According to the game, I burned 143.9 calories. While I was at it, I programmed in the next few workouts I need to do for this challenge. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's workout! Do you have any fitness goals? What are you doing to reach them?
