As you might know, my schedule is a little bit on the jam-packed side of things right now. I'm a wife (our 2 year anniversary is next month...say WHAT?!), dog mom, I work full-time, and go to school full-time. But for some odd reason, I'm not overly stressed out about it. Which if you know me at all, that is nothing short of a miracle #crazytypeA #foreverstressed
I think that's a good sign. I'm excited about what I'm learning in my classes. I'm excited about getting involved in research and volunteering (I'm not so excited about taking the GRE but that is beside the point). You guys, I feel good about my choice to pursue speech-language pathology.
I've made it a priority to take care of myself lately (mentally + physically) and it's really paying off. I bust my butt 6 days a week (in class, at home, at work, and at the gym) and take one day to unwind, to breathe, to basically veg. And it's doing wonders for me. I feel like it makes me a better wife, friend, student, and worker. Honestly.
I've been choosing to spend those "veg days" out in the Florida sunshine (um which hello why has it been in the 50s the last 2 days? Florida, what is the deal? IT IS SPRING) and it is glorious.
So if you're anything like me and you are awful at relaxing (but really, super good at overworking yourself), this is your sign to CHILL OUT. Burning yourself at both ends doesn't do you (or anyone around you) any good. In order to be your best self, you've got to take care of yourself.
So push the to-do list aside for a day and step outside. Breathe in the fresh air and let the sunshine tickle your skin. Love yourself. Love your life. Be your best you.
