Make Your Staycation Your Best Vacation Feat. One Washington Circle Hotel

I am a wholehearted devotee of the staycation, which may come as a surprise to those who know my love for travel. Going to sleep on a plane and waking up in London or France is a thrill, and zipping up to New York for a long weekend is a treat, but travel and vacation are not always compatible; the jet lag and stress of highways and airports can erase your vacation chill. When you need to unravel that knot of tension in your shoulders and get some real, restorative sleep, staycation is the answer!

Recently we spend a relaxing weekend at One Washington Circle Hotel, my third stay with a Modus Property. It has an easy access to all of the sights and attractions of Washington DC. This spacious hotel contains all the amenities of home, including a kitchen or kitchenette in every room. It feels like a home away from home, without the everyday life responsibilities. We were a big fan of the fruit bowl, and detox water in the lobby. It got us refreshed even after a hot and humid summer day in the city.
You can enjoy a cocktail by the outdoor patio or take a dip in the pool during summer months or enjoy a delicious meal at Circle Bistro. I would say it is an ideal location for a Staycation in the city or for people visiting who would like to be centrally located. Keep scrolling down to checkout the pictures from the stay.

Let’s admit it, we probably have spent more time exploring places far away from home than we have the sites of our own area or region. This is natural. People tend to dismiss local sites or always assume they’ll go there some day. So there are bound to be places around us we haven’t explored or activities we haven’t tried.

  • There is no wasted travel day on the front and end of a vacation -- two vacation days saved!
  • No travel means no physical drain. Let’s admit it, travel is exhausting.
  • You don’t have to spend your vacation with strangers, either on flights or in hotels.
  • If the weather is lousy, who cares? Adjust.
  • Your vacation can’t be cancelled by an airline or other travel situation.
Here's what we did on your staycation:
Visit to a local museum

We checked out the new exhibit at the Renwick Gallery. It was one on my recent favorite. If you have a moment check it out on the highlights on Instagram under "OWC Hotel" Checked out the local trails You know I love my daily workouts. We always use the opportunity to check out the local trails which we can't commute to while living in the suburbs.
Planed our own food fest We also use the staycation weekends to checkout the new or our favorite D.C. restaurants. Since we don't have to drive an hour or look for parking the joy of a delicious meal is even more. Here's the photo diary of our stay at One Washington Circle Hotel
