Dual Action Function
The Cook n-Blend has a dual action function, meaning it both steams and blends food into purees. For a small kitchen appliance, the fact that it contains both a food processor and a steamer is a huge plus! You can be assured your little one is getting all necessary vitamins/minerals since steaming better preserves these nutrients. To get started, just pour water into reservoir,  place chopped fruits and vegetables in steaming basket, press steam button, and wait the specified time for fruits/vegetables to be complete! There is even a helpful chart in the instruction manual that gives water amount and steaming time guidelines for common fruits/vegetables. When steaming is complete, it will automatically stop and  beep to alert you. Everything can then be poured directly into the blender for puree. It does not get much easier than that!

Find below an example of a recipe using the Cook-n-Blend:
Apple and Pear Puree
1 large eating apple, peeled, cored, and chopped
1 large ripe pear, peeled, cored, and chopped
Place the chopped fruits into the Freshfoods Cook-n-Blend Baby Food Maker steam basket. Place the
basket into the cooking bowl and tightly twist the lid closed. Place the cooking bowl on the base and
lock into place. Unscrew the water reservoir knob at the top of the unit and fill with water to level
3. Tightly replace the knob. Press the on/off button to start cooking. The green light will come on and
it will cook for about 17 minutes. Remove the basket and keep the cooking liquid. Place the steamed fruit from the basket directly into the cooking bowl and add 2 tablespoons of the cooking liquid.
To puree, turn the blender button to the desired speed depending on the texture you want.
