Majolica Majorca Brow & Lash Colorist (BR555)

By Dressmeupbuttercup @hazelsalcedo

I’m not one who’s majorly obsessed with eyebrows… until well, I got into this whole beauty blogging thing and found this urge to make my brows look more presentable (lol, silly I know). But even then, I only started with having my eyebrows threaded (I recommend Lay Bare!) or I do it myself at home with tweezers and pluck any stray hairs. You see, I have really thick black brows so I initially didn’t find eyebrow pencils and the likes that much appealing to me.

The very first eyebrow product I tried was ELF’s brow gel and powder duo some two years ago. For the longest time I was happy with that cos I only needed to fill in some areas. Then enter the K-Palette eyebrow liner, which I honestly just bought cos of the glowing reviews! And now let us welcome the new addition to the family… this Majolica Majorca Brow & Lash Colorist. Which strangely made it to my “Wanted Product of the Month” and then I finally convinced myself to get one last week.

Majolica Majorca is a sister brand of Shiseido. I can’t understand a word in the box cos its Japanese! But I do know I got the shade BR555 (maroon brown) and the saleslady who assisted me told me it’s the shade that matches me best. The other one is BR333 (vanilla brown) which is a tad lighter.

Yes, it’s like your regular mascara.

And yes, you can use it for your eyelashes too! I just haven’t applied it for that purpose yet.

Now if you’re wondering what my bare brows look like, here it is… (btw, don’t miss out the morning skincare + makeup routine post to score a dewy look like this in less than 3 minutes!)…

And here’s me with brown eyebrows!

So what do you think?

Personally, I’m still not used to lighter eyebrows on myself! I know my hair has some hint of brown to it, and most makeup artists say brows should be one shade lighter compared to hair color, but… I don’t know. This whole colored eyebrow thing is still foreign to me!

Anyway. I like that Majolica Majorca Brow & Lash Colorist is very pigmented and rich in color. I don’t need to dip the applicator back to the tube. Once is enough to cover my whole thick eyebrows. It also stays put the whole day and doesn’t smudge or fade even after a sweaty workout at the gym!

However, it could be such a mess to apply this (especially for a then-first-timer-like-me). So here are some tips! Remove excess product from the wand by wiping it off in the opening of the tube (so the excess will go right back in). Do have a clean spoolie available (like Marionnaud N°38 brush) so you can brush your brows over after applying the product. The clean spoolie also evens out the application and absorbs the excess product. Also, make sure your eyebrows are groomed, plucked, threaded, or whatever, because expect that you’ll get some attention with colored brows. :)
