I am really excited about the books I got this week.
My mailbox this week
First up is TransAtlantic by Colum McCann. This book made it to the Man Booker longlist this year, and although it’s not been on my books to read radar, I just couldn’t refuse when it was offered up for review.
The next book, and one I am super-excited about is The Signature of all Things by Elizabeth Gilbert. This is an advanced uncorrected proof, the actual publish date is in October. I just paged through the book, and it’s awesome and I am pretty sure I will love it. I got both these books from Bloomsbury.
The last book, and one that is a bit of a wild card is Spying in High Heels by Gemma Halliday. It’s the first in a series, and is a girlie type of mystery – mixing in fashion, and crime detection together…it seems like it’s in the Stephanie Plum style of books. The Plum series has long gone stale on me, but I am hoping this book will be a pleasant start of many more light n easy reading mysteries for me. This book came to me from Jaico Publishing.
