Mailbox Mondays: October 21, 2013 Welcome to Mailbox Monday, a meme started by Marcia of To Be Continued and hosted by Bob of Beauty in Ruins this month.

Ooh, what a windfall of lovely books last week!

Just in time for Man Booker season, I received 2 Man Booker shortlist books.

We Need New Names by NoViolet Bulawayo is the most colorful of the lot. On an initial skim through, it seems pretty easy reading. Whether it will be anything more, I need to read and find out.

It’s been ages since I read anything for the Japanese Literature Reading Challenge, and so I jumped at the chance to read A Tale for the Time Being by Ruth Ozeki. It’s not often you get to tick off 2 reading list check boxes (Japanese literature and Man Booker) with one book

;)

The last book and one that I am really excited about is Night Film by Marisha Pessl. I’ve heard both good and bad things about this book, but the synopsis is so noir-ish, and so dark, and mysterious and so my kind of book that I pounced on it all eager-beaver style. Also when I read this absolutely intriguing review, I knew I had to sign up to read this book.

Huge thanks to Penguin Random House for sending me a copy of these books to read.

Have you read these books? What do you think of them? What books did you receive last week?
