Mailbox Monday!

Mailbox Monday! Description Mailbox Monday is a where we share the books we acquired in the week whether bought, borrowed or stole...or sent from a publisher! It is hosted by a different book blog each month; more details can be found here: Mailbox Monday.  The host for June's Monday Mailbox is  Burton Book Review Book Pile for this Week
I was visiting my sister in Bristol this week, and while I was there I insisted we visit some of the local bookshops. Bad idea. I ended by with too many books. This was the shop that most of my books came from (LOVE the name):
Mailbox Monday!
Here are the books I got:

Books I Bought
Mailbox Monday! Title: Stories Author: Neil Gaiman (Editor) and Al Sarrantonio (Editor) This is a book of short stories by lots of different authors such as Neil Gaiman, Diana Wynne Jones, Jodi Picoult, Chuck Palahniuk to name but a few!  Title: The Diamond as Big as the Ritz and Other Stories Author: F Scott Fitzgerald Again, a book of short stories, this time by just one author: F Scott Fitzgerald. I have read 'The Great Gatsby' and loved it and have his short story collection 'Flappers and Philosophers' in my collection too. I must read. Title: Eric Author: Terry Pratchett This book was so cheap, and is the ninth book in the Discworld series. I already had books 1-8 so it was the next one I needed! I have read 1-5 and adore them- they are the kind of books that you can pick up when you feel like something light and wonderfully written and read in a day.

Title: Middlesex Author: Jeffrey Eugenides I keep hearing great things about this book and I love the cover on this edition. I have read 'The Virgin Suicides' by this author and liked it a lot so hopefully this will be good too! Title: Oryx and Crake Author: Margaret Atwood This book sounds right up my street. It is all imagination-y. I have the sequel so I have been looking out for this one for a while. Title: The Sense of an Ending Author: Julian Barnes I'm not sure why I got this one because I have only read one other Barnes novel and I didn't care for it. However, I loved the cover and it won a prize so I went for it.
Mailbox Monday!
Title: Black Butterfly Author: Mark Gatiss I didn't know that Mark Gatiss had written books! He is one of the writers for Doctor Who, and has been in lots of programs I love, particularly 'League of Gentlemen'. I had to get it. Title: Steampunk! Author: Kelly Link (Editor) and Gavin J. Grant (Editor) This is another collection of short stories under the banner heading of 'Steampunk'. It includes lots of amazing YA authors such as Holly Black, Cassandra Clare, Elizabeth Knox...to name but a few.  Netgalley/ Edelweiss E-Books I feel so spoilt this week by the amount of incredible e-books I received. Especially by HarperCollins who approved all of my requests for books I think look amazing. Squee. Mailbox Monday!
Title: Defiance Author: C.J Redwine I am really excited about the upcoming Pixar film 'Brave' and this reminded me of that! I likes a redhead and I am so intrigued by this one.
Mailbox Monday!
Title: What's Left of Me Author: Kat Zhang Cover and title do it for me with this one. Intense.
Mailbox Monday!
Title: The Spindlers Author: Lauren Oliver I have seen a lot of people talking about this one for a while so I was really excited when I saw it was available. I love the word 'Spindler' and the cover is so cute!
Mailbox Monday!
Title: Strands of Bronze and Gold Author: Jane Nickerson Ahhh SO HAPPY with this one! It was my 'Waiting On Wednesday' book last week and I just cannot wait to read it. It is a fairy tale retelling of Bluebeard which MUST be fantastic.
Mailbox Monday!
Title: Over You Author: Emma McLaughlin This book is about a girl who comes up with a way to get over beig dumped. However, when her ex turns up her world starts unraveling. I love books like this in the summer- light and fluffy.  That's my rather humongous mailbox this week- link me up to yours!
