There is something so magical about this time of year. The snow softly falling on rooftops, hot cocoa in festive mugs, twinkly lights that look like tiny stars, carols of love and happiness that sound of magic, perfectly wrapped bows, and the smell of fresh pine really do make the season bright. But the holidays can also become overwhelming, chaotic with overcrowded stores filled with shoppers hustling and bustling, which is when I realized that so many of us get caught up in all the mayhem the marketing world puts out, making us lose sight of the holiday spirit; instead of taking advantage of this magical time of year. The time to spend hours in the kitchen with loved ones sharing recipes enjoying great foods, decorating the house for the most beautiful season, and just taking cold winter days to cozy up near the fireplace alongside a perfectly lit tree to reflect and be thankful for another year. My family gets together both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day upholding our Portuguese traditions of great food, drinks, laughs and spending time with the ones that matter the most, and with my grandparents here this year, it will definitely be a special holiday for me. A special photograph can evoke so much emotion, and these images made me feel the holiday cheer. Hope the holiday brings you much happiness and joy.
