Magic Man Release Celebratory New Track ‘every Day’ [stream]

Last time I wrote about Magic Man, it was to celebrate their Fox Den Demos EP and the announcement that they had been signed to Neon Gold/Columbia Records. Well, they’ve been busy these past few months, remixing popular songs by the likes of Ellie Goulding, Atlas Genius, San Fermin and The Colourist, and it’s already time for more celebration with this fresh track, “Every Day”, from their new EP, You Are Here, coming out September 10th.

Magic Man’s music has never lacked energy, but “Every Day” is a straight and pure dance pop track, upping the tempo and featuring equal parts treble bass lines, thunderous drums, catchy synth hooks and the ever present co-ed vocal harmonies. In the past, they’ve been compared to Passion Pit, but in this track I can even hear the influences of Prince at his most animated musical moments, mastering the tension and release between choruses and verses. When you think your heart can’t beat any faster, “Every Day” reaches the gradual build of the bridge, leading to the charged arrival of one more chorus before the song trails off and leaves you wanting more (how I feel at the end of every Magic Man song). So, follow my lead: put “Every Day” on repeat, and have a dance party all by yourself.
