Magic

I'll tell you what would be a great magic trick, if I managed to hit all my deadlines this week. It's first week back at college so I'm a little under the cosh.
I read Colin's blog on Monday and, as chance would have it, my sister got back to me this week saying she'd found my creative writing books from when I was about 6.  I vividly remember one of these has a story about a magic carpet ride.  Seeing as I haven't managed to write anything else I thought it might be fun to read it out at this Friday's Dead Good Poets.  If you want to see exactly how much of an annoying little shit I used to be (yeah, used to be) hopefully I'll see you there.
By the way, I haven't been able to get this song out of my head since my friends posted it last week. Give it a watch, it's by Oz of Blue Room notoriety. The lyrics are amazing. I don't believe in magic but I do think one of the most magical things we have is a good metaphor. Metaphor helps us experience the world anew, making things fresh for us. Oz's use of metaphor in this song coupled with his delivery gives me shivers. Please watch it and share it. I think it deserves to be a YouTube sensation.
Right, I've got to disappear. Deadlines to meet. Hopefully this coffee will magic-up some energy!
