well hello monday... you definitely snuck up fast on me. i had planned on doing an instagram weekend recap but the site is not working for me :/ hey instragam, april fools was yesterday. i guess that'll have to wait until tomorrow, so i'll share panera's mac & cheese recipe. this is definitely one of my favorite things to get when i'm there but it has SO much sodium in it! i made a little change to it but nothing major :)
mac & cheese-lious recipe.what you'll need:1 (16 oz.) package small pasta shells1/4 cup butter1/3 cup all purpose flour2 1/2 cups 1% or 2% milk6 slices white American cheese, chopped1 cup (8 oz) shredded extra-sharp white cheddar cheese1 tbsp mustard1 tsp kosher salt1/4 tsp hot sauce
mac & cheese-lious recipe.
first, prepare pasta accprding to package directions. melt butter in a large sauce pan over low heat. whisk in flour and cook 1 minute, whisking constantly. gradually whisk in milk; cook over medium heat, whisking until mixture thickens and is bubbly. remove from heat. add cheeses, mustard, salt, and hot sauce, stirring until cheese melts and sauce is smooth. stir in pasta and cook over medium heat, 1 minute or until thoroughly heated. serve immediately.
