The goth kids put on their dancing shoes at Market Hotel Thursday night, as Lust For Youth played a sweaty, smokey, much-anticipated sold-out show. The Copenhagen-based trio, joined here by a fourth member on electronics, was in town to celebrate their newly-released Compassion (on Sacred Bones), a record that, like 2014’s breakout International, teems with dark, danceable synthpop. Throw in unrelenting strobe effects, the erratic presence of vocalist Hannes Norrvide and a rowdy crowd, and the night was intense, to say the least.
